Iterative – Applications for S21, Request for Startups, Work at Iterative Companies
Hi everyone!
There’s been a lot going on at Iterative lately! We’ve added a few people to our team and getting close to finalizing our next batch (Summer 2021) that starts on 19 July.
Speaking of which..
⏰ S21 Application Deadline: Fri, 2 July
Applications for Iterative Summer 2021 are due in 2 days (Fri, 2 July). We will be accepting applications after the deadline but they will be considered late and we can’t guarantee we will get to them in time.
You can apply here.
Is my startup is too early (or too late) for your program?
We’ve had companies pre-product and some with millions in revenue. They obviously need help with different things, typically market validation for the former and scaling your company for the latter. Through our own companies, we have experience with both.
Our program is not a one size fits all kind of thing. There’s no long generalized lectures about startups. You’ll work closely with Brian and I on your startups specific problems.
What happens during the program?
There’s a much longer, more detailed explanation on our program page.
In short, (1) Brian and I will work with you on your startup via Office Hours, (2) you’ll learn and discuss problems with your batchmates via Small Group, (3) you’ll attend private talks by other successful founders like Ryan Hoover from Product Hunt and the co-founders of Airtable, and finally (4) we’ll teach you how to fundraise, work on your pitch with you and introduce you to the 250+ investors that attended our last Demo Day.
How much do you invest?
US $150K all at once, at the very beginning of the program. There’s no program fee.
What companies have participated in previous batches?
We’ve invested in 16 companies in the last 2 batches. You can read about the companies in S20 and W21 at the respective links. We’ve also done quite a number angel investments in the that you can on our investments page.
🤩 Request for Startups
Most of the ideas we fund come from the founders and are not something we’ve thought about before. However, as founders ourselves, there are a number of ideas or trends we’re especially interested in. We thought it’d be fun to post them publicly here.
The shortlist of themes are..
1. Allow anyone to sell anything
2. The financial system is painfully outdated
3. Digitize everything
4. Celebrity culture is just getting started
5. COVID accelerated adoption
We hope that by sharing them 2 things will happen: (1) if you’re working on one of them you’ll come talk to us and (2) start a conversation about how we think about the future. We’re planning on updating the list occasionally as we develop new opinions.
